Our Proud History

. . . . . .Enrico (Henry) Pastorino was born in Cogoleto, Italy in 1910. He and his parents moved to the San Francisco area in 1919. He met the love of his life Lorraine and they wed in 1938. Enrico settled in northern California (as did so many other Italians) because the geography and weather were similar to the Italy that he left. Enrico and Lorriane started the Pastorino Farms in the fertile valley of Half Moon Bay, on the coast, 15 miles west of San Mateo in 1957. At that time their primary business was a wholesale flower nursery. Growing flowers is still their primary business. They had two children, Hank and Marlene. Hank and his son Scott now manage the business.

. . . . . . Hank started the pumpkin patch in 1971. Hank built all of the seasonal displays that parents and children have enjoyed for years. During the pumpkin season the barn is turned into a showplace for seasonal decorations and specialized gifts for our customers. The remainder of the year the barn is used for farm equipment. The third generation of Pastorinos is actively involved in the day to day operations of the entire business.
